Delete Your ManaArchive Account
Effective
You can delete your ManaArchive account yourself, at any time, from the mobile app or the web. It takes about a minute, and you do not need to email anyone to do it.
The short version: confirming deletion signs you out everywhere and schedules the account for permanent erasure 7 days later. During those 7 days you can still change your mind. After them, your collection, decks, storage, imports, trades, and account record are erased from the live database for good. We keep a hashed record that the deletion happened, and encrypted backups age out within 6 months.
1. About this page
This page explains how to delete your ManaArchive account and the data attached to it. ManaArchive is a Magic: The Gathering collection and storage tracker, available on the web at www.manaarchive.com and as a mobile app.
Deleting your account is free, self-service, and does not require you to contact us. The steps are below. If you only want to remove some of your data and keep your account, see deleting data without deleting your account.
2. How to delete your account
You have to be signed in to delete an account. That is not a hurdle for its own sake: an account can only be deleted once we know which one you mean, and signing in is the only proof we accept that the account is yours.
In the ManaArchive mobile app
- Open the ManaArchive app and sign in.
- Tap your account avatar in the top-right corner of any tab.
- Under Legal, tap Delete account. This opens the ManaArchive settings page in your browser, where the deletion itself happens.
- Continue from step 3 of the web instructions below.
On the web
- Go to www.manaarchive.com and sign in.
- Open Settings from the account menu.
- Scroll to Your data and select Delete account.
- Type your email address exactly as it appears on the account. If your account has a password, enter it as well. Accounts that sign in only through Google or Discord have no password, and the email confirmation is the whole check.
- Tick the box acknowledging the cancellation window, then select Delete my account.
You are signed out of every device immediately. Before you start, you may want to use Export my data on the same Settings panel — it downloads a ZIP of JSON and CSV files covering every card, placement, deck, trade, and import. Once the deletion completes, that export is the only copy that still exists. It does not hold the original text of each row of a CSV file you imported, only the card details read from it; email us before the deletion completes if you need that too.
3. The 7-day cancellation window
Deletion is scheduled 7 days ahead, not performed on the spot. For those 7 days your account is locked — you cannot sign in and use it, and nothing new can be added — but the records above still exist and the deletion can still be called off.
The window exists so that a deletion made in error, or by someone who got hold of your session, can be reversed by you rather than being immediately irreversible. To cancel, sign back in during those 7 days and use the cancellation panel at the top of the Settings page.
Once the 7 days elapse, a scheduled job permanently erases the records listed below from the live database. After that point you cannot get the account back.
Copies of the database also exist in encrypted backups, which we keep so the Service can be recovered after a failure. Your data ages out of those on a fixed schedule: nightly backups within 14 days, weekly backups within 4 weeks, and monthly backups within 6 months of your deletion. Backups are never used to bring back a deleted account, and if we ever have to restore one, we delete your account again before the restored database goes back into service.
4. What is deleted
Immediately, when you confirm
- Every active session is revoked, signing you out everywhere.
- Trade requests you sent, and the card lines inside them, are deleted outright.
- Trade requests you received are unlinked from you — the other collector keeps their own record of the trade, with your account reference removed and the counterparty shown as “Deleted user”.
- Friend requests you sent and received are deleted.
- Marketplace listings are pulled off any connected CardTrader or ManaPool storefront, so cards you can no longer manage do not stay for sale.
- Any paid subscription is set to cancel at the end of the period you have already paid for.
- Tournaments you organize are cancelled if they are published and not yet over, and their entrants are emailed. Your places in other tournaments are given up, unless the tournament has already started.
After the 7 days, permanently
- Your account record — name, email address, password hash, friend code, plan, currency and language preferences, and the customer and subscription identifiers linking you to our payment processor.
- Your collection — every collection item (card, finish, condition, language, quantity, tags, notes, purchase price) and every placement recording which binder, box, page, and slot each copy sits in.
- Your storage containers — every binder and box, including layouts, cover images, and descriptions.
- Your decks and all of their entries and categories.
- Your want list.
- Your CSV imports and every row inside them, resolved or not.
- Your friends list, and any remaining friend or trade requests.
- Your sign-in credentials — linked Google and Discord accounts, any pending sign-in exchange codes, remaining sessions, and unused password-reset tokens.
- Your marketplace data — seller-account connections and the encrypted API tokens they hold, along with the listings, sales, and orders synced against them.
- Your cost-basis ledger — acquisition lots and disposal records, and with them the realized profit-and-loss history behind the Reports tab.
- Your tournaments: the tournaments you organized with their places, submitted lists, announcements and replies, and your own places, submitted lists and replies in other tournaments.
- Your support messages — anything you sent through the contact form from the email address on the account.
- Your Discord server roles — if you linked Discord, the Verified and plan roles our bot gave you in the ManaArchive Discord server are removed.
5. What is kept, and why
Your name, email address, and collection do not survive the purge in the live database. These things do, and this is all of them:
- A hashed deletion record. We keep a single row noting that a deletion was requested and when it was requested, scheduled, and completed. It holds a SHA-256 hash of your account id and a SHA-256 hash of your email address — never the address itself, your name, or any collection data. A hash cannot be reversed, but anyone who already knows your email address could hash it and find the matching row, so we treat the record as pseudonymised personal data rather than anonymous. We keep it so we can demonstrate that deletion requests are honoured on schedule, and so a deleted account stays deleted if a backup is ever restored — those are the only reasons it exists.
- Encrypted backups, for a limited time. As described above, backup copies age out within 6 months at most.
- Support messages sent from a different address. We can only match contact-form messages to your account by its email address. Messages sent from any other address are deleted automatically 2 years after they were sent, and the copy delivered to our support mailbox is deleted if you ask us to.
- Other collectors’ trade records. A trade request another user created belongs to that user and is not ours to delete. Yours is stripped out of it: the reference to your account is removed and you appear only as “Deleted user”.
- Moderation audit rows. If an administrator ever took an action on your account — a plan change or a suspension — the audit row recording that action remains, with its reference to your account set to null so it no longer points at any user.
Two things sit outside our systems entirely and are worth naming. Any export you downloaded is on your own device and is yours to keep or delete. And an external marketplace you connected keeps its own records of sales made on its platform under its own privacy policy — disconnecting removes our copy, not theirs.
Our full data practices are in the Privacy Policy.
6. Delete data without deleting your account
You do not have to close your account to remove data from it. Every control below is self-service and takes effect straight away — there is no request to file and no waiting period. Using any of them leaves your account, your login, and everything you have not explicitly removed exactly as they were.
Remove a card from your collection
- On the web: open the collection, select the card, then choose Remove from collection.
- In the mobile app: open the card, open its actions menu, choose Delete holding, then confirm with Delete.
This removes every copy you own of that printing and the records of where they were filed.
Delete a binder or box
- On the web: open the binder or box, select Edit, open the Danger tab, type its name to confirm, then choose Delete binder or Delete box.
- In the mobile app: open the binder or box, open its actions menu, choose Delete binder or Delete box, then confirm with Delete.
The cards themselves stay in your account — they simply become unfiled. To remove the cards as well, remove them individually first.
Delete a deck
- On the web: open the deck, open its actions menu, choose Delete…, type the deck’s name to confirm, then choose Delete deck.
- In the mobile app: open the deck, open its actions menu, choose Delete deck, then confirm with Delete.
The deck and its list are removed. Your collection is unaffected.
Disconnect a marketplace seller account
- On the web: open Listings, go to the Settings tab, and choose Disconnect on the connection you want to remove.
Live listings are taken down and the stored API token for that seller account is deleted.
One thing to be clear about: we do not delete collection data on a timer. Your cards, decks, binders, and boxes stay exactly as you left them for as long as your account is open, and are removed only when you remove them — or when you delete the account, which is the one flow with the 7-day window described above.
7. If you cannot sign in
If you have lost access to your account, start with password reset — it emails a reset link to the address on the account, after which you can follow the steps above yourself.
If that does not work, email support@manaarchive.com from the address on the account, or use the contact page, and tell us you want the account deleted. We will verify that the request comes from the account owner before deleting anything.
